Named as well as the temple of dawn after Aruna, the Indian God of Dawn Wat Arun Temple (also knowned as Wat Chaeng) is one of the most striking landmark of Thailand. Located on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River Wat Arun is 79 meter high, and you better bring comfortable shoes in order to climb at the top.
Other things around that you can visit at the same time: Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew, the National Museum, Chinatown the Ko Rattanakosin area, and the Banglamphu district.

How to get there: From BTS station Sapphan Taksin go to the boat pier. There you can take a river boat and stops at pier 8 don’t hesitate to ask the stop, people are usually very helpful. From Pier 8 you can cross the river on a small boat.
